MARCH 3 SPRING SRTC MEETING. The Spring 2012 meeting of the Conservancy will be held on Saturday, March 3, at the Grand Central Hotel in Cottonwood Falls. Items for discussion include the Railbanking Initiative ( 5 of the 6 rail corridors have been railbanked) and the Good Neighbor Policy. The meeting will begin at 11:00 a.m. All trails enthusiasts are invited. After the meeting adjourns at 2:00 p.m., there will be a field trip to a newly-opened section of the Flint Hills Nature Trail which cuts through tallgrass-covered hills.

JUNE 2 NATIONAL TRAILS DAY. Celebrate National Trails Day by organizing or attending an event on your trail. It can be a walk, hike or bike ride or work session. Register your event with the American Hiking Society at:

JUNE 2 SUMMER SRTC MEETING. The Summer 2012 meeting of the Conservancy will be held on June 2, in Iola. Trails advocates are developing the 6.5-mile Prairie Spirit Trail extension which stretches between Iola and Humboldt. Details will be posted later.
